Sweet Workin' It

Workin’ It: Sorbet Sandwiches (Michigan Fruit Part 3)

I want my whole world to be the color of strawberry sorbet. I’d like to match it to the paint sample of my life.

OH! I made a total of 4 recipes for this feature. Click here and here for the first two posts. Check back for the last recipe next week! (This just might be the recipe I was most excited to show you!)

Let’s make these components, assemble, and freeze! We’ll have them handy for houseguests. I bet they’ll be so impressed with the casual homemade ice cream sandwich stock keepin’ it real in the freezer.

Plus, these are just the thing to snack on while looking for shade in a hot backyard. They will make your friends and your heart smile.

Pretty much, I’ve wanted to make these again since these disappeared from my freezer. So come visit! I need to make these to share or I’m in trouble. Let’s celebrate summer sandwich-style.

P.S. This sorbet recipe is my favorite. It’s adapted from The Perfect Scoop. The cookie recipe is adapted from Created by Diane.

Yay! Click HERE for a downloadable pdf of the recipe shown above.

  1. I really need to get on the sorbet train because your red sorbet is the prettiest color ever! Can I have a dress, shoes, everything in that color??

  2. One time (as in, last week) it was hot. As in 110 degrees hot. I decided I needed this strawberry sorbet, pronto. Only I didn’t have an ice cream maker because I was 500 miles from home. So I grabbed my trusty blender and told it to get its act together. I stuck the strawberry purée in the freezer and blended it every 30 minutes or so until it was frozen. It certainly got the job done and I had my strawberry sorbet bliss. Yum-o.
