My name is Megan DeKok and I’m a 27 year old lady glazing coffee cakes in the suburbs of Detroit with my pup Elliot.
Elliot always wants to sample baked goodness like those rolls down there.
I’m an Art Director for a few Detroit magazines by day and a baker by night. I try to incorporate my love for food into my job as much as possible. I’m also available for freelance food styling. Click HERE to see some of my published work.
My interest in food started watching my mom cook and bake treats for years. When I moved out on my own I realized that I am the kind of girl who requires fresh corn tortillas with my tacos, homemade strawberry jam for on toast and homemade hot fudge for my ice cream. So I started making things!
My mom helps out a lot by e-mailing me childhood recipes and helping me understand why corn starch is so weird. She also helps keep me from freaking-out when a recipe isn’t doing what it’s supposed to.
Once I made cookies that looked like owls. Owl, bet you’ll love these dudes.
