Wintertime Favorites

Hope you’re having a lovely and magical, winter! One filled with surprise presents in the mail, plenty of hot cocoa, cookies, goat cheese, and holiday beers galore. Just thought I’d share some things that I’m loving  (now and forever-ever like Andre 3000). 1 // Fondue Pot of My Dreams. My online lady friend Sarah (who takes such lovely photos) mailed me this fondue pot! I pinned it awhile ago so she knew I loved it! It…

Thanksgiving 2013 // a recap

I did my usual fly-to-Minnesota thing this year for Thanksgiving. My favorite part was probably when my mom let me eat a middle roll before dinner. I was so hungry, you know? Can you believe I flew some of those bling-bling cookies there? I put them in a little ice cream tub and none of them broke! Wednesday night was our usual pumpkin pizza night. This year I made one of my favorites: White Pizza…

I went to San Francisco!

Late Thursday night two of my favorite fellas and I arrived in San Francisco. We were super hungry because everyone knows that flights always start before you’re hungry and end at just about the time you think you might have to eat 6 bags of mini pretzels in a row just to survive. My BFF Katie and her husband, Mark, picked us up and took us straight to In-N-Out. We got our burgers animal-style and now…

Lettuce Be Happy

Sometimes it’s cool to take a minute and just think about some good things, ya know? Like baking big cookies, wrapping your little pup in a blanket (Is he yawning because he’s bored with fall already?), dunking waffles, new gold-toe ankle boots, swirly twirly heart straws, new enamel spoons, pretty flowers from the farmer’s market, cheers-ing drinks, and livin’ life. Sometimes when all the things are up in the air, and it’s almost panic o’clock,…

My Little Holistic Pup

I’ve wanted to talk to you guys about my pup, Elliot, for years! I’ve wanted to tell you all about how he’s had back problems and how they’ve caused trouble with his back legs for awhile. Years ago, Elliot was running in the snow and slid into the fence. He wanted to bark at the angry dogs that lived behind us. That was the beginning of his troubles. At the time he stopped using one…

Food Blog Forum (a recap)

Friday morning, at early o’clock, Cindy and I popped on a plane to head to Orlando for Food Blog Forum! We’d been chit-chatting for awhile now about wanting to attend a food blog conference, and this one seemed too good to be true! We had all day friday to lounge by the pool with frozen boozy drinks (pineapple garnish forever) and relax until the welcome reception. We even went down a water slide (3 times…

I went to Pittsburgh!

I was trying to sort out a weekend getaway, when my friend Katie suggested Pittsburgh. Turns out it’s just a breezy 4-ish hours from Detroit so it’s kinda the perfect spot to venture for a quick trip. Having never been there is reason enough to go, right? P.S. Katie and her husband Mark started a travel blog. Check it out! The first night consisted of walking to get pre-dinner beers in lobster glasses. A big glass of water…

My five favorites (at the moment)

My current faves in no particular order: Kate Spade Saturday Wristlet – I got this lovely wristlet as a secret surprise present in the mail from the lovely Heather! It’s quickly becoming my favorite. Can’t get over the black and white stripe combo. (Find more wristlets here.) Capricorn Necklace – My friend Katie gave me this since we’re BFFs with the same birthday. We’re just two Capricorns who keep it real despite all the monster moons…

Thanksgiving 2012 // a recap

Thanksgiving happened already! I can’t believe it. So, I went to my parents’ house and cooked, feasted, napped, read books, and ate way too many potato rolls. Wednesday morning my Dad and I went out to breakfast. I opted to get poached eggs instead of the Lotsa’ Meat Omelet. (Was that a mistake?) My mom and I baked a s’mores cheesecake. (Tthat crackly guy is it before it was topped with homemade marshmallow fluff). Then her…
