The 7th Annual Valentine’s Brunch

Sunday was the 7th Annual Valentine’s Brunch! And it was super fun. It involved: cheese plates, mimosas, a few fried things and even flower crowns. (They’re pretty easy to make, if you can even believe it). We all hung out and ate tons of food and drank mimosas by the pitcher.  I kinda wish I would’ve eaten more! And my friends did secret dishes and it made the clean-up so much easier. I feel so lucky…

Workin’ It: Summer Cocktails

It’s summer time so it’s prime time for backyard drinking. (I know this especially well after this weekend. Moscow Mules, FTW!) So here are five cocktail recipes to keep your weekends boozy and your mornings bagel-y. You see, I was lucky enough to work with Metro Detroit Bride on this cocktail shoot. Consider them all sampled by me. P.S. Cindy and I made a similar champagne and coulis cocktail for our picnic party last year. Featured booze: L. Mawby…

The 6th Annual Valentine’s Brunch Party

Sunday was the 6th Annual Valentine’s Brunch Party and Monday was Washington’s Birthday. So I had the day after the party off! It was a Valentine’s miracle! I decorated by repurposing last year’s big fringe garland giving it the horizontal remix. I also decided to cut a big heart (super-jagged-like) out of two pieces of foam core and top it with fringe! For the savory goodness, this year, I made: Cobb Salad Deviled Eggs, breakfast sausage…

Brunchiladas + Mimosaritas

I love enchiladas. So much so, that I’d like them for breakfast filled with eggs and chorizo. I’m all Dr. Suess about them. Please give them to me topped with salsa verde, out on the town, at the picnic table, for dinner, for breakfast, with leftovers, with newovers, topped with quickly whisked chili powder enchilada sauce, filled with BBQ, topped with gouda, topped with goat cheese. I just want them, ya know? So when I…

Champagne Toast

I’d like to propose a toast to toast and edible puns and to breakfast cocktail toast concoctions. And good luck to all the buttery bread that’s ever lived. May you all be toasted, dunked in soup, or transformed into pudding. Cheers to Elliot’s little foot in the left corner. And to casual bread baking without any yeast. I’d like to raise a glass to the lovely hills on top of this bread and the vaguely…

The 5th Annual Valentine’s Brunch Party

Sunday was the 5th Annual Valentine’s Brunch Party! It just might’ve been my favorite year yet. A record number of champagne was consumed, and people stayed later than ever! I wanted to switch up the decorations this year, so I made this big fringe garland! And it ended up so pretty! I might want to leave it up for my whole life. For the savory goodness I made Focaccia Cakes with Spinach Dip filling, Avocado Deviled…

Strawberry Champagne Waffles

Let’s restart. Let’s toast to the new year now! I’m not going to lie. I keep thinking that I can’t wait for this year to end. Too many crazy things have happened that I no longer want to share a year with. But my friend mentioned that maybe I should start my new year now, ya’ know? Toast now! Instead of wishing the year away, take a fresh start immediately. So let’s put champagne in our…

The 4th Annual Valentine’s Brunch Party

Happy Valentine’s Day! This year we celebrated with brunch (again)! The flat is currently covered in pink, red, and gold. There are buntings, fringe, and glitter everywhere. I’m pretty sure it’s on my face right now. I was super into painting things gold and fringe, this year. I even gave the table a fringe-y skirt since the craft paper wasn’t wide enough to cover the whole thing. (Lookin’ good, table!) Eventually I put some chili…

Valentine’s Day Brunch Party

I love love. That’s why Valentine’s Day is my favorite, I bet. Jake and I hosted our third annual Valentine’s brunch party on Sunday. It was the first in the new apartment! We encourage everyone to bring their appetites, and bubbly. I spent the weekends leading up to the party making those tissue paper pom poms up there. Jake thought I was getting out of control. He thought they’d end up covering the whole ceiling.…

Champagne Cupcakes

These champagne cupcakes make me feel fancy. I feel fancy despite the fact that I only spent $5 on the champagne I put in these guys. And I feel fancy despite the fact that I might have cereal for every meal today. The sprinkles make my floor feel fancy too. I bet that I dropped as many sprinkles on the floor as landed on the frosting. So, cheers to the new year with cupcakes! Champagne…
