Double Dough Ice Cream

You guys, I’m heading to Chicago for the weekend! There are plans to drink beers and drinks and eat pizza and monkey bread and cinnamon rolls. So, it’s probably good that I prepped this week by snacking on this ice cream. I really sampled the hell out of it. I just wanted to get ready for my weekend AND make sure this was good, ya know? The base tastes like dough FO SHO. And there’s…

Vegan Zucchini Muffins

The thing is, I feel like I styled these muffins like Christmas. And I made these because I was craving this cake and because I had half of a vegan apple loaf guy for breakfast and sometimes a girl just needs a muffin. And my favorite muffin liners are parchment squares, my favorite holiday is Valentine’s Day, my least favorite holiday is Christmas, and I think I want to listen to this song on repeat,…

Strawberry Sconecake + a Driscoll’s Berry Giveaway

– Contest Closed – My favorite summer-time memory, growing up, was when my mom would make strawberry shortcake for dinner. She would make it cake-style. She’d bake up a giant round biscuit and slice it down the center. She’d fill it with juicy strawberries and whipped cream. We’d each get a giant slice served up in a bowl for dinner! This might be a giant reason why I love this dessert so much, ya know?…

Chocolate Crepe Cake Minis + a Megabite Birthday

My blog’s four! If it was a degree, it’d be a bachelor’s! If it was a relationship, it’d be a serious one! In these four years, I’ve baked my feelings, made you brunch, drank beer with crepes, put beer in waffles, poured it over ice cream. I’ve tried to make pie without making pie. (Twice.) I’ve been super happy and super sad. I’ve met some great ladies and fellas! I just love this community. Ya’ll…

Party Time

Lovely Lady Lunch (check it out)

On Saturday Cindy and I threw a lady picnic party in my backyard. You see, last summer my parents visited and we painted my picnic table Mint Majesty. It’s been begging for a party ever since. We planned the menu months ago! We agree that cheese and crackers are always necessary (and caper berries!). In order to make the cheese a bit more ladylike we dressed it up like cake. I’m now officially crazy about gorgonzola,…

This and That

What is it about chillier weather that makes me extra hungry and extra sleepy? I’m all about hibernating these days. I just want to go to sleep and wake up to pancakes or pizza! I think I feel that way all the time though. Monday I made pizza for dinner! It involved this pumpkin dough and a spinach remix to this pesto. There was also plenty of proscuitto and goat cheese, of course.  It made…

Workin’ It: Infused Vodka

Infusing vodka is magical. The vodka transforms from clear to fruity brights. Boom. Three days go by and you can casually sip fruity vodka on the rocks. No biggie. For this story I made seven different kinds: watermelon, peach vanilla, cherry, strawberry basil, blueberry, cucumber, and raspberry blueberry blackberry. My favorite is watermelon. It tastes like a refreshing summer dream. I also love the cherry and strawberry basil. So, pretty much you should just slice up…

Strawberry Rhubarb Sweet Rolls

I recently learned that peaches and raspberries baked together is called Melba. What a lovely name! What a lovely thought! I think that strawberry and rhubarb should have a name for their fruit friendship. They’re BFFs too, ya know. (Best Fruit Frends Forever.) Strawberry rhubarb pie and cinnamon rolls are my BFFs. Because of this fact, I’ve been thinking about how to combine these desserts for weeks. Consider this their love child. It’s true love.…
