Christmas 2014 – A Recap

I like my Christmas to be filled with snacks, cocktails and Home Alone. And this year it was just that! I bought my boyfriend an Instax camera so we took plenty of practice photos figuring out how it works and stuff, and then my parents came into town just in time to make my holiday even better! I’m crazy about Belvour. I mean, these sparkling drinks taste like magic. I picked up a bottle for Christmas toasting.…

Christmas 2013 – A Recap

Christmas was full of cake, perogi, cinnamon rolls, and pizza. I guess I should’ve said Merry Carbmas, ya know? I made a cake for no reason other than that I was out of World Peace Cookies that Nicole gave me. I was having chocolate withdrawal. I also knew I wanted to make my mom’s no-knead cinnamon rolls for brunch at my brother’s house.  The dough is super thoughtful! You just stir it all up and pop…

Christmas 2012 – A Recap

I hope you all had the best Christmas! I baked those cupcakes up there for my BFF’s Friendsmas party. I topped the hell out of them with some of the deer and tree toppers that I’m crazy about. (Keep your eye out for them again super soon, birthday cake style.) This year I borrowed a fun 60’s aluminum tree from a friend of mine who knows what’s up. I think I should maybe keep it…

Christmas 2011 – A Recap

I hope you all the best holiday! We ate tasty-goodness, as is our tradition. We wrote out the menu for our feast Christmas Eve. It involved breakfast, daytime snacking, and a big dinner. I made us sweet and savory crepes for breakfast. Half with strawberry jam, strawberries, and brie, and the rest were filled with crispy proscuitto, gruyere, and spinach. I’m the sweetie to Jake’s savory. We’re a food ying-yang. I pick dessert and he picks…

Christmas 2010 – A Recap

I hope you all had a fantastic Christmas! We kept it real with the following traditions. We wore festive outfits and drank mimosas. We had a big tasty breakfast. This year we had chocolate chip pancakes topped with fresh whipped cream. (That’s my new big whisk down there!) I took a picture of Elliot through my chocolate-covered gingerbread men spatula. He thought that was pretty fun. We sipped mimosas all day while sitting on the…

Gingerbread Penguins

Jake loves penguins. I love Jake. These cookies were a no-brainer, really. This dough is delicious. I had to try it, right? I had to test to make sure I didn’t forget a key ingredient like molasses, Christmas cheer, or love. These gain the freshman 15 in the oven. It’s adorable, really. Mostly, I love how these are chewy. They aren’t a crunchy boring cookie. They have personality. They are penguin gentlemen of the tasty…

Christmas Cookies: My Top Six

Chocolate Crinkles – These cookies look hip in wrinkled outfits. They are amazingly fudgy and chocolatey and are a hit despite their lack of ironing. Cream Wafers – I look forward to these every year. Just go ahead and make a double batch, already. There’s only 4 ingredients in the cookie, just sayin’. Mini Black and White Cookies – I love these cookies. They are cakey and tasty and fashionable. They totally stand out in…
