I like the word “banoffee”. Probably because I’m always combining words. Like instead of blueberry pancakes, I might say blancakes or instead of a crumble cobbler, I might say crumomble or cobumble. These word combos aren’t nearly as cute as banoffee which is bananas and toffee (or caramel in this case) though.
But regardless, you should know that this milkshake is maybe a smoothie (smilkshake?). It’s a smoothie in a milkshake outfit. You see, there’s no ice cream, but rather frozen bananas giving it that chilly-willy, thick, and dreamy consistency. And those frozen blended bananas (fronanas) will probably grow up to marry goat milk caramel because they belong together. Add as much caramel as you want to this concoction! Maybe drizzle some in the glass before filling. Make this your own, ya know? Live the banoffee life.
P.S. See below for a chance to win some of this dreamy caramel! Thanks to Fat Toad Farm for working with me! They’ve got mad skills, so I ‘m excited to be able to send along a jar to one of you guys! You see this caramel is a salty sweet dream!
Banoffee Milkshake (makes 1 large or 2 small)
Ingredients:
- 2 peeled and frozen bananas, chopped
- 1/4-1/2 cup milk
- 2-4 T caramel, to taste
Directions:
- Place the bananas, 1/4 cup milk, and 2 tablespoons caramel in a blender or food processor. Add more caramel to taste, and more milk to thin it out. Serve with sliced bananas and more caramel. I topped mine with crumbles leftover from this ice cream, but cookie crumbs or graham cracker crumbs would be super tasty!

Purring and sleeping cats make me happy. As does successfully making a new recipe and/or tweaking a new recipe slightly and having it come out delicious, still. I love cooking/baking so much because it’s a new challenge to meet and grow from each time you set out to nourish your body. You set new goals and break them for yourself with every meal/snack/treat. It’s food for the mind, body and soul.
My wonderful husband, puppy, exercising and baking all make me very happy.

Summer makes me happy! And this milkshake would make me happy too! I’ve been making all kinds of smoothies using frozen bananas. Now I’ll have to try adding caramel. Plus this is still like healthy, right? 😉
Local produce tops my list of things that make me happy. Strawberry picking? I die.
berrying in the summer makes me happy. we just closed out local strawberry season here in MA and I picked about 12 pounds and turned 8 of them into strawberry preserves to give to friends. (giving preserves to friends makes me happy, too! 🙂 )
on another note, I love banoffee anything, especially the banoffee pie at Co. in NYC. AMAZING.
Baking quick loaves makes me happy! And bananas! And my Pinterest board of baby animals. And your blog! Would love some homemade caramel 🙂

I love family gatherings and just being around people I love.
Something that makes me very very happy right now in the middle of a heatwave is my air conditioner. I know it’s healthy to spend time outside and such, but it’s silly hot out there.
Picnics top my list of things that make me happy, followed closely by tipsy movie nights and fresh bread. But if I’m lucky that caramel will eclipse all the others.

My dogs!
These sound so great! I love that there is no ice cream in them. I love ice cream but my husband usually eats it all in one sitting so there isn’t any left for milkshakes.
