Banoffee Milkshake (plus a giveaway!)

Banoffee Milkshake // take a megabite

I like the word “banoffee”. Probably because I’m always combining words. Like instead of blueberry pancakes, I might say blancakes or instead of a crumble cobbler, I might say crumomble or cobumble. These word combos aren’t nearly as cute as banoffee which is bananas and toffee (or caramel in this case) though.

But regardless, you should know that this milkshake is maybe a smoothie (smilkshake?). It’s a smoothie in a milkshake outfit. You see, there’s no ice cream, but rather frozen bananas giving it that chilly-willy, thick, and dreamy consistency. And those frozen blended bananas (fronanas) will probably grow up to marry goat milk caramel because they belong together. Add as much caramel as you want to this concoction! Maybe drizzle some in the glass before filling. Make this your own, ya know? Live the banoffee life.

P.S. See below for a chance to win some of this dreamy caramel! Thanks to Fat Toad Farm for working with me! They’ve got mad skills, so I ‘m excited to be able to send along a jar to one of you guys! You see this caramel is a salty sweet dream!

Banoffee Milkshake // take a megabite

Banoffee Milkshake (makes 1 large or 2 small)

Ingredients:

  • 2 peeled and frozen bananas, chopped
  • 1/4-1/2 cup milk
  • 2-4 T caramel, to taste

Directions:

  1. Place the bananas, 1/4 cup milk, and 2 tablespoons caramel in a blender or food processor. Add more caramel to taste, and more milk to thin it out. Serve with sliced bananas and more caramel. I topped mine with crumbles leftover from this ice cream, but cookie crumbs or graham cracker crumbs would be super tasty!

  1. This blueberry peach hand pie I’m currently eating with ice cream is doing a pretty dang good job of making me happy! (Pluberry? Bleach? Uh, wait, no…)

  2. Also I just liked you on Facebook! What can I say, I came for the posts on Valentine’s Brunch and I never left. You’re awesome and an inspiration!

  3. I love word combinations (wombinations) I like to think they streamline my conversations but then I just spend my time explaining what I just said.

Something that’s making me happy right now is ice cold cubes of watermelon straight outta the fridge. Yummm.

  4. My little baby eggplant I have in my garden makes me very happy. It’s tiny and purple and I’ll almost feel bad when its time to eat him (almost).

  5. I guess 2 things will always make me smile. 1. When my bulldog gets the wiggles when I come home from work. 2. When I’m out exploring fla with my camera in tow. Xoxo pam

  6. This dessert makes me happy. Well, only if it’s in front of me. On a regular day though, just chatting away with hubs makes me happy. Little things.

  7. What really makes me happy is the nice summer weather (I live in Canada so we have a short window of beautiful summer weather!)

When the weather is sunny and beautiful out, I can go for walks with my mom and check out the awesome stores by the university with a waffle cone to accompany us. Bliss! 🙂

  8. What makes me happy? Going on an early morning run and coming home to blueberry pancakes…perfect morning! This would make an excellent dessert 🙂

  9. Kisses from kittens, warm sunny days, pedicures, days off from work, payday (money-not the candy bar :-)), powdered peanut butter, good low calorie snacks, a good meal at a restaurant with my husband, sitting by the pool, birds chirping, new electronic gadgets, clean carpet, a new car, going to Sephora, talking with an old friend, oh yeah, and banoffee! :-)) ?

  10. things that make me happy during this heat wave: air conditioning, flat iron (to combat humidity frizzies), watermelon mojitos, no bake desserts!

  11. Barnes and Noble makes me really happy! Books everywhere, the smell of coffee and baking cookies from the café, quiet music playing… it is heaven.

  12. Also I totally liked you on facebook! I am such a big fan of this blog, Megan. Your food styling is so cheery and pretty and I love your recipes! Two thumbs up from this gal. 🙂

  13. I already “like” your Facebook Page – and I LOVE your recipes. Liquorice Allsorts make me ridiculously happy!

  14. Oh, the “puppy prancing” makes me estatic!! Every single time. And they KNOW it. Amazing how much of a mood lifter they can be. Thank you for the great giveaway!!

  15. Right this second the word fronanas made me happy.

I definitely want to try this idea out. I don’t love frozen banana “ice cream” all by itself, but it’s gotta be good with caramel. It looks awesome.

  16. What makes me happy is how you can turn frozen bananas into ice cream…and now delicious looking milkshakes! It gets me every time 🙂
