Insta-Recipes #3

You guys, it’s spring. For real. It’s time to crack the windows, bake cookies for work, pizza for your favorites, and granola for the hotties in your life. Below are 3 recipes from my Instagram that I really think you guys should know about. I mean, sometimes baking and dancing happens on a weeknight and there’s no time for photographing these in a fancy manor… So here you go! I really loved these whoopie pies.…

Package up your granola! {DIY}

Last weekend, while I was in Florida, the second Rock Paper Scissors Craft Mart happened! I was asked to make vendor gifts, and needed to make something that would still be super-fresh and awesome come Sunday. I opted to make my favorite coconut oil granola with dried strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, and roasted coconut. P.S. I’m totes selling baked goodness at the next one! They needed 25, so I made 30 just in case. It turns out…

Let’s make our faves with Silk!

Silk Soymilk has a whole new taste that I find to be super delightful! It reminds me of slightly sweetened cereal milk, and I’m into it. I love it in my favorite frozen banana, honey, and cinnamon smoothie. Don’t be fooled by this smoothie’s khaki ensemble, it’s subtly sweet frosty goodness. It’s super good poured over my favorite crispy coconut oil granola. Popping a few berries on top doesn’t hurt either. It’s one speedy, yet…

Strawberry Oatmeal Muffins

I can’t eat oatmeal on it’s own: in a bowl, topped with milk, at the table. I just can’t. But I promise that I will eat it in cookies, scones, and muffins. I will eat these guys standing in the kitchen, over my computer, with a fork (when they’re too hot), and in my backyard with the pup. Breakfast is my favorite. I wake up hungry. And so, on the weekend, I daydream about warm biscuits,…

Mom Visit {a recap}

My mom was in town last weekend! So I made sure to take her to my favorite places. We went to Taqueria Lupita’s for dinner for carnitas tacos and then walked down to La Gloria Bakery for churros and the cutest cookies ever. (I can’t wait to go back to try their pork tamales!) We went to Eastern Market on Saturday morning for strawberries and rhubarb to make pie! We couldn’t resist the daffodils either. For dinner I used some…

Coconut Oil Granola

I’m a cereal monster. I’m like Jerry Seinfeld. I love it. It probably has a lot to do with my carb-love. Because of this fact, I knew I needed to make this granola! Cindy’s been raving about it to me, and she knows what’s up. Granola is super-simlple and so tasty! It also looks cute in a jar out on the counter. It has the looks and the personality. Be sure to to sample this…

Honey Graham Granola

I can’t do it, you guys. I can’t muster up motivation to vacuum. We get the keys to the new place tomorrow, and I just can’t bring myself to dust anymore. I just want to clean there and not here anymore. Do you see my point? Do you see that graham cracker bird, right there? This recipe is all about oats getting toasty with almonds. It has a little bit to do with honey and…

It’s a Birthday Miracle + a healthy snack!

Yesterday, on my birthday’s eve, I got a mysterious package in the mail. I picked that polka dotted envelope out of the squiggly wiggly paper stuff and it was from Joy the Baker! Talk about a birthday miracle! Evidently it happened like this: my mom was all, “Hey Joy, my daughter thinks you’re totally cool and stuff.” Next thing I know Joy sent me a magical fennel pollen spice remix and a card shaped like the…

Pumpkin Spice Granola

I support splurging 100%. Buy those shoes! Don’t bother worrying about groceries. Buy that dress! You’ll totally wear it enough times to make up for the $150. Get the $6 organic milk, just do it. You already have purple pumps? But are they peep toes? When buying my lunch, last week, I slipped and fell into a $6 bag of cherry almond granola. It was really good, but I mean come on, I can make…
