Pumpkin and Banana Marble Loaf

I mean, I like banana bread, and I like pumpkin bread… Why not make bananunkin bread or pumkana bread? Yeah… these are the thoughts I think on the regular. I took this out of the oven. I let it cool for barely 5 minutes before I sliced it ever so carefully and ate two warm, butter slathered slices in a row. I could’ve eaten more, but I mean, I’ve got to keep it under control.…

Pumpernickel Bread

I call Elliot PUPernickel. I mean, why wouldn’t I? Feel free to use that on your own little dog friend. It’s a solid joke, ya know? Like how every dog’s favorite pizza topping is PUPperoni. I mean, it’s just natural. Or how in the summer they eat PUPsicles. I could go on all day. When researching this lovely bread, I discovered that it gets it’s dark color through cocoa powder and molasses! Those two together…

Let’s make sandwiches!

You guys! There’s a sandwich contest comin’ up. And it’s pretty exciting. So much so, that I totally cut letters out of bread to tell you about it. I kerned some carb letters last night. Believe it. All you have to do is make an awesome dream of a sandwich on King’s Hawaiian Bread or rolls, take a photo of it, and upload the ingredients, photo, and recipe right HERE. You have until September 2, at 11:59 p.m.…

Orange Scented Chocolate Chip Bagels

I sing this song in the car almost every day. It might’ve replaced Kelly Clarkston’s Since You’ve Been Gone in the sing-in-the-car-way. Both are about love gone wrong though, so they have so much in common. What I’m trying to say is that, I know that I’m feeling ok based on whether I sing in the car or not. That’s how I figure out how I’m doin’. And nothing gives me a reason to sing…

Champagne Toast

I’d like to propose a toast to toast and edible puns and to breakfast cocktail toast concoctions. And good luck to all the buttery bread that’s ever lived. May you all be toasted, dunked in soup, or transformed into pudding. Cheers to Elliot’s little foot in the left corner. And to casual bread baking without any yeast. I’d like to raise a glass to the lovely hills on top of this bread and the vaguely…

Orange, Cardamom, Vanilla Swirl Bread

My flat smells like toast, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I go to bed at night dreaming of popping this swirly twirly dream in the toaster. I savor the hell out of every bite. It’s basically the toast version of these Orange Rolls, so I’m kinda obsessed. And I’m pretty excited about the fact that I have an entire spare loaf in my freezer! Toast forever! Also, do me a favor and don’t…

Mom’s Wheat Bread (revisited)

I’d like to spend January hibernating and waking up to warm bread. I want grilled cheese sandwiches for lunch every day. Preferably with smashed avocado, mozzarella, and goat cheese. And this bread makes awesome toast. It’s perfectly sweet with honey or maple syrup. For this particular loaf I used a brown sugar and maple syrup combo. So, I hope your weeks are full of warm bread and the best toast. I hope you never run…

Cranberry Orange Bread

Are you guys ready for Christmas? In my head and heart Christmas is next month, next year, not next week. But at least I have a fun 60’s aluminum tree up with approximately 4 ornaments on it. And at least I wrote Bah Humbug on my chalkboard, right? And at least I put some gold tinsel up and some pink snowflakes on the windows. I’m trying, you guys. Although, I haven’t baked any Christmas cookies…

Chocolate Orange Brioche Knots

This brioche is delicious, but in the process of making it my mixer broke! Currently, my beloved Kitchenaide is sitting in pieces in the spare room, on the desk I never sit at, while I wait for parts to arrive in the mail. I’m crossing my fingers that it’ll be up in running in 3-5 business days. It all started when I used the paddle attachment for this here buttery yeast dough. T’was too much!…

Garlic Rosemary Bread

I’d like a slice of this big enough to be a pillow. I’d fall sleep right away! I’d wake up snacking. You see this bread is the softest. Perfect for the savoriest of sandwiches or the toastiest of toasts. And I can’t stop with Call Me Maybe jokes… like for this bread it’d be: I baked some bread, and this is crazy, but I’d like to marry it, so let’s go to the courthouse maybe. So…
