My Favorite Lunch

Ok, so the other day I was asked, “What are you doing to take care of yourself?” And I was all, “Oh, ya know, I wake up a little bit early and make oatmeal for breakfast, coffee in my french press, and prep a salad in a jar for lunch.” In the summer, it made me really happy to get home from work, put a beer in my purse, bring Elliot out and have that…

Christmas 2014 – A Recap

I like my Christmas to be filled with snacks, cocktails and Home Alone. And this year it was just that! I bought my boyfriend an Instax camera so we took plenty of practice photos figuring out how it works and stuff, and then my parents came into town just in time to make my holiday even better! I’m crazy about Belvour. I mean, these sparkling drinks taste like magic. I picked up a bottle for Christmas toasting.…

Savory Parfaits with Cheddar Bunnies

If I bring my lunch to work, I like it in a jar. Preferably layered real cute-like. Good-lookin stacked salads make for a fun desk lunch. Way more fun than handfuls of granola and granola bars and weird snacks from the basement store that also sells enchiladas with fries on the side. (I ain’t mad at that.) My favorite chicken salad is creamy with Greek yogurt and whipped goat cheese. No mayo in sight. That…

Bunny Resolutions // Cheers to 2015!

I smile about you guys and Elliot the pup every day. More Honey Bunnies and salads, right? Edible sunsets are cool too. Let’s really hang out. I’m going to New Orleans and Nashville soon! Yay! That deer really does pull that tie off ever so effortlessly. Picnics are my kinda adventure. All the Zinnias and Poppies in my neighborhood forever and always. Full disclosure: I was given payment from Annie’s Homegrown to post this resolution biz While this…

Thanksgiving 2014 // A Recap

Change is good, right?! This year Thanksgiving was a different one for me. I stayed in Michigan (instead of flying to Minnesota, like usual) and cooked for my boyfriend, his parents, da roommate, his mom, sister and aunt. So we painted pumpkins gold, bought cloth napkins, planned out the menu, put a wreath on the front door, and lugged tables to the basement bar. I did a bunch of prep at home. Things like making, drying…

Beet Peetza (Beetza)

I’ve been napping at inopportune times. Well, I guess they’re kinda opportune. (Is this even grammar?) I napped mid-blog post. I napped post-cookie, pre-tattoo washing in mismatched socks, with Elliot wedged between me and the back of the couch. I think it has to do with this whole daylight being saved thing, hibernation, and also just that somehow I’ve gotten really good at sleeping. I’d be a fool not to pursue something I’m good at,…

12 Fall Favorites

It’s fall, you guys. Turn the oven up and the heat down! Below are my current favorite things! A weird mishmash of kitchen things, edibles, and beauty biz. 12 Fall Favorites: one // These Salt & Pepper Shakers make me so happy. They were the best surprise! I plan on keeping them on display for my whole life. AND the holes are big enough for kosher salt which I think is just super thoughtful. Looking for cute…

Cinnamon Ice Cream

What’s been up, guys? Here’s some stuff that’s been going on. (Warning: this stuff is REAL crazy.) So, my mom bought me a mum plant. It was only a week before I realized it was missing! And by missing, I mean it blew off the porch and had dried out to a tumbleweed. (Sorry, mom!) I’m the worst at plants. AND then, I might’ve made Lemon Lentil Soup for a casual Monday dinner and forgot dill…

Let’s Toast to Sunday Dinner!

Sunday dinner was a big deal growing up. After church you eat a full meal. Main dish! Sides! Dessert! No nonsense. Even now my grandma will ask, “But who do you eat Sunday dinner with?!” And I usually tell her that my Sundays are normally full of brunch, bike rides, and rarely a big sit-down lunch with family in church clothes followed by dessert, coffee, and naps. This last Sunday was different though. I made a…

Mocha Ice Pops

I tried to do laundry on Tuesday, but I ate sliders and listened to records instead. I tried to help Elliot not hear fireworks by blaring music, but he couldn’t ignore them no matter how loudly I blared Otis Redding’s romance tunes. I tried out a new dance move in front of the mirror, but it looked way cooler in my head, and now I think I should probably keep dancing to myself, in my…
