Friday morning, at early o’clock, Cindy and I popped on a plane to head to Orlando for Food Blog Forum! We’d been chit-chatting for awhile now about wanting to attend a food blog conference, and this one seemed too good to be true!
We had all day friday to lounge by the pool with frozen boozy drinks (pineapple garnish forever) and relax until the welcome reception. We even went down a water slide (3 times in a row)! I smiled the whole way down. At the reception we finally met Erika of Souther Souffle! We had drinks and toasted to Billy because we really wished he could’ve been there. (Next year!) That night we ate overpriced spaghetti and meatballs in the Italy part of Epcot and laughed about the employees wearing coolots or un-coolots.
Saturday was the conference! I had toast with strawberry rhubarb jam for breakfast and cupcakes for lunch (kinda?).We learned about goals and sorting out what you’re trying to achieve from blogging from Jaden Hair from Steamy Kitchen, about telling a story with photos or video from White On Rice Couple, and about building a community from Elise of Simply Recipes along with Julie from The Little Kitchen and Lindsay from Love & Olive Oil. I realized that I need to get organized and figure out where I want to go on this blog train. And I just want to make a video. I just need to! Elliot should probably be in it, too.
Saturday night we headed over to the Magic Kingdom to go on a few rides. (I looked super angsty in the Tower of Terror photo. I had to cross my arms to keep my clutch from flying off the ride!) We also FINALLY got to try dole whip, which is this pineapple, orange, or vanilla soft serve dream. It was worth walking all over to find. A fruity miracle!
The brunch Sunday morning was my the perfect way to end the weekend! It was put on by Whole Foods and was SUPER delicious. I like any brunch that starts with pulled pork and ends with Biscoff gelato.
I’m already thinking about next year’s conference. Can’t wait!
girl, I’m glad we survived the Tower of Terror and that I didn’t seriously concuss you with my clutch! Nashville/Asheville next year, ha!
Yes! That was the funniest photo ever. Our row looked so upset compared to the fun happening behind us! hah
Can I tell you how much I love that you and Cindy had clutch issues on the Tower of Terror?? Best story ever. Sounds like such a fun time and the food!
Fashion probz! Yes! You should come next year, Nicole!
SO nice to finally meet you! And you are a braver woman than I am… I can barely handle the Pirates ride, let alone Tower of Terror! Eek!
I screamed the whole time! haha I’m glad I got to meet YOU! Looking forward to next year.
ohmygod Megan, I totally want to make a video too!! I’ve been thinking about it for a while now. I just need to make it happen.
And I need to make that food blog conference happen next year. Too much fun!

Sounds like you had a great time! I love making videos and know yours would be awesome! That dole whip sounds great and did you say Biscoff gelato? Can you make a version of it to blog?
Yes! It was super fun. AND yeah, I totes need to make Biscoff gelato. Keep your eye out for it!
A lovely lounge by the pool with frozen boozy drinks sounds like the perfect way to kick off a weekend at Disney and FBF!
Yeah, I need to get my freckle-tan on!
That all sounds like too much fun! Food bloggers have all the fun! I want to be one when I grow up!
