What is it about chillier weather that makes me extra hungry and extra sleepy? I’m all about hibernating these days. I just want to go to sleep and wake up to pancakes or pizza! I think I feel that way all the time though.
Monday I made pizza for dinner! It involved this pumpkin dough and a spinach remix to this pesto. There was also plenty of proscuitto and goat cheese, of course. It made the best dinner and then the best lunch the next day! I’ll probably be eating this same dinner weekly.
Elliot’s been going to the vet pretty regularly. For a bit it was weekly, then every other week, and now maybe monthly! So I’ve been baking things on the Monday’s before his appointment to bring to the Dr. and the lovely ladies at his vet’s office. This Monday I made cinnamon blondies. Basically this recipe, except I baked them in an 8-inch cake pan so I could serve them as wedges. I also added a bit of cardamom, chocolate chips, and a generous sprinkle of sea salt. Also! These are a breeze. I made them at around 10pm after an unreasonably long nap…
P.S. Here’s an article on Elliot’s vet where he’s the pup model!
Last Saturday I went to the Michigan Beer Festival at Eastern Market. I made sure to eat tacos before hand and pizza after. My first beer was a Short’s Peaches & Cream and my last was a Rye situation from somewhere someplace. Yeah, they give you a lot of beer tokens.
The post beer fest pizza was from Supino and it was super good. I really loved the quattro formaggio. It involved fresh mozzarella, smoked Gouda, chevre, feta, and parsley. I’m definately getting Gouda for next week’s homemade pizza. But mostly, I need to go back to Supino right away. Here’s a link to their full menu.
Oh! And since it’s fall, don’t bother missing out on Trader Joe’s super good pumpkin ice cream. I’m serious. I bought it a couple weeks ago and then baked up petite version of these large marge’s for a chocolate chip cookie/pumpkin ice cream sandwich situation. Pretty much my favorite.
I hope you all had a fun Halloween yesterday! For me it involved watching Donnie Darko and then listening to plenty of 80’s music. I also totally hung out with that cute pup up there.
P.S. I’ll be back next week with tasty recipes!
That sounds like a pretty good Halloween to me! PS, those ice cream sandwiches were the business!
Yeah girl! Now I want a brownie sundae though!
This Megabite issue made me feel like I was on some field trips with you!! Sooo fun…miss you..AND will see you this month!! Ya hoooo
Yeah! You would’ve loved beer fest. ha!
Um, I would like to join you for a Peaches and Cream followed by gouda pizza. Yum!!
Oh for sure. So good!
I want like a thousand of those ice cream sandwiches.
I wish I could mail you 2,000. Fo realz.
I have been wondering about the TJ’s pumpkin ice cream. Certainty looks good. Going to have to pick some up.
Get it gurl!
I’m in love with yeasted pumpkin products after i made some pumpkin cinnamon buns – so now that pizza of yours is totally on my radar. Your Elliot is pretty cute – he wants your ice cream sandwich so bad!
Yay! Yes! The pizza and pumpkin sandwich bread. So good!
And yeah, Elliot loves sampling everything. 🙂
