Let’s go to Chicago!

Last weekend was a Chicago adventure. It was full of record shopping, brunch, cinnamon rolls, photo booths, beers, hat and boot shopping, coffee drinking, and plenty of ice cream. Can you believe that I’ve wanted to go to to Mindy’s Hot Chocolate for years? Ever since she made this monkey bread on the Martha Stewart Show. And I finally got to go to a Jeni’s Ice Creams scoop shop. I got the biggest sundae ever, and you better believe…

I went to Florida!

You guys, this little weekend getaway to Florida with my lady friend was the most fun ever. I think it has to do a little bit with the whole summerland beach-ville situation, and a lot to do with the fact that Kathy and I have the EXACT same idea of what makes a vacation fun. We are on the same page with beach runs, naps, calzone emergencies, big breakfasts, and pitchers of beer with lunch.…

I went to San Francisco!

Late Thursday night two of my favorite fellas and I arrived in San Francisco. We were super hungry because everyone knows that flights always start before you’re hungry and end at just about the time you think you might have to eat 6 bags of mini pretzels in a row just to survive. My BFF Katie and her husband, Mark, picked us up and took us straight to In-N-Out. We got our burgers animal-style and now…

Food Blog Forum (a recap)

Friday morning, at early o’clock, Cindy and I popped on a plane to head to Orlando for Food Blog Forum! We’d been chit-chatting for awhile now about wanting to attend a food blog conference, and this one seemed too good to be true! We had all day friday to lounge by the pool with frozen boozy drinks (pineapple garnish forever) and relax until the welcome reception. We even went down a water slide (3 times…

I went to Pittsburgh!

I was trying to sort out a weekend getaway, when my friend Katie suggested Pittsburgh. Turns out it’s just a breezy 4-ish hours from Detroit so it’s kinda the perfect spot to venture for a quick trip. Having never been there is reason enough to go, right? P.S. Katie and her husband Mark started a travel blog. Check it out! The first night consisted of walking to get pre-dinner beers in lobster glasses. A big glass of water…

I went to New York!

Last Friday I arrived in New York hungry. My friend Kathy and I arrived at our lovely friend Erica‘s house late-ish Friday night. We were super hungry and the cocoa almonds we ate on the plane just weren’t cutting it. So, Erica took us to The Meatball Shop where I ate every single bite of a Meatball Smash-wich — spicy pork meatballs, tomato sauce, and provolone on brioche. I ordered a side of kale risotto worth…
